On Friday, August 16, 2024, Virginia House Delegate Katrina Callsen handed out House Resolutions commending the work of local journalists during a luncheon at Rapture, including representatives from WTJU, Vinegar Hill Magazine and Charlottesville Tomorrow, Sean Tubbs, WINA News Director Jay Hart, WVTF’s Sandy Hausman, and yours truly, among others.
Typically, politicians aren’t so fond of journalists, but as a new member of the House Delegates, Callsen said she relied on the reporting of local journalists to keep her informed about the place she represents, which prompted her to draft the resolution. Charlottesville Mayor Juandiego Wade was on hand as well.
